A ENGAGEMENT SESSION IN THE HEART OF THE MEXICAN CARIBBEAN PARADISE

This incredible couple shows us that love has no boundaries. Luke, an Italian who found his way to settle in Cancun, and Jackie, a Mexican who also made this city her home, are proof that love understands neither languages nor traditions — it only follows connection.

The day of the session, we did a little bit of everything. Luke picked me up early in the morning, we had breakfast, walked along the beach, and then he invited me to his home, where I had the pleasure of meeting Jackie. Over a cold beer, we talked about travel and photography, enjoyed lunch at their favorite restaurant, and from there, we headed straight to the session.

Allowing yourself to be surprised by a traveling soul is one of the best things you can do when visiting a new place. Although I had already been to Cancun, I had never stepped foot in Puerto Morelos... much less in those hidden places at the edge of the Caribbean, where it feels like only a few fortunate people have ever been. The whitest sand you can imagine, corals and sea sponges scattered along the shoreline... a true paradise.

One of the things I love about photographing sessions or weddings far away from home is that I experience them with complete presence. Then, when I look back at the photographs, I can feel the atmosphere of the place again — even the weather — and the fullness that only comes from dedicating yourself to what truly inspires you.

We ended the day with a wonderful dinner at the home of these two amazing souls... And yes, we had pizza, just as it should be with an Italian host.
